that money can't buy happiness
corrosive as greed is-
but on the rooftops we were singing--
on the rooftops we were playing--
on the rooftops we were free!
so though we've all agreed
that money can't buy happiness,
and corrosive as greed may be,
rooftops don't come free.
and though money can't buy happiness
it can buy a rooftop,
and that's good enough for me.
